About

Central to my work is an ongoing exploration into stories – the female protagonist often examines banal and bizarre situations and obscurities around her. Each story gets amalgamated with my own relationship with memories, experiences, observations, tales, dreams, daydreams and aspirations.

I use recurring forms and colours as a personal symbolic language; abstract configurations distil complex emotions and parallel universes, that seem obtuse or impenetrable to myself and others. Materials such as fluorescent paint, matt emulsion, rubber and fabric are juxtaposed to relate concepts or states of being such as energy, fragility, containment, silence, and reflection.

Through my work I seek to understand my own reactions to questions of societal norms, beliefs, morality, the nuances of perception, experience and time; I am a conduit to deciphering the world around me.

 I am a London based artist, originally from Sweden. I previously qualified as an architect and have worked extensively with the fabric of buildings, space and surfaces. My knowledge of materials, the handmade, crafts and spatial manipulation grounds and informs my practice.

My work includes sculpture, paintings and site-specific pieces – “Strawhouse”, London and “Trapphus”, Gothenburg. I have taken part in a number of group exhibitions including “Lines & Curves” during the London Design Festival 2021, “MK Calling”, MK Gallery 2020, “Threshold” at M2 Gallery 2019, “Genesis Light Magic” at St John in Bethnal Green 2018, “Creekside Open 2017 as selected by Alison Wildin”g at APT Gallery, “monoChroma”, Crypt Gallery 2016 and “What is the Point?” at Mall Galleries in 2015. I curated “Scenograph”, a group show at Obiter Studio, London, 2020 and the recent “The comrades they were brave – We salute you!” 2022 at 44 GRS Gallery. In 2017 I took part in “LCN Artist development programme” at Space, London and in 2018-19 the “Peer mentoring programme” at Cubitt, London.
