About

Central to my work is an ongoing exploration into stories that examines banal and bizarre situations and obscurities, where each story gets amalgamated with my own relationship with memories, observations, tales, dreams, daydreams and aspirations.

I use recurring forms and colours as a personal symbolic language; abstract configurations distil complex emotions and parallel universes, that seem obtuse or impenetrable to myself and others. Materials such as fluorescent paint, matt emulsion, Perspex and fabric are juxtaposed to relate concepts or states of being - for example, energy, fragility, containment and frustration.

Materials that disobey or defy their conventional use, act as performative façades in negotiation with the unruly. Poking out, piercing through, constrained, or escaping; elements within my sculptures are often connected with chain or ropes that support or balance their counterparts. Textiles are draped, padded or prodded, whilst mirrored surfaces reflect the viewer, seeking to animate the work by the bodies that interact with them.

I am a London based artist, originally from Sweden. I previously qualified as an architect and I have worked extensively with the fabric of buildings, space and surfaces. My knowledge of materials, the handmade, crafts and spatial manipulation grounds and informs my practice.

My work includes sculpture, paintings and site-specific pieces, the latter such as “Some settle some depart”, Art made This, Gothenburg 2022, “Strawhouse”, Outpost, London 2019 and “Trapphus”, Bostadsrättsföreningen Furan, Gothenburg 2016.

I have taken part in a number of exhibitions including the self-organised exhibition “STRANGER WITHIN” at Rochelle School London in 2024. Group exhibitions include  “In the Emancipation of Self” at D Contemporary, London 2024, “m2 ARTISTS: RECENT WORK 1” at ASC Gallery 2022,  “Lines & Curves” during the London Design Festival 2021, “MK Calling”, MK Gallery 2020, “Threshold” at m2 Gallery 2019,  “Genesis Light Magic” at St John in Bethnal Green 2018, “Creekside Open 2017 as selected by Alison Wilding” at APT Gallery and monoChroma, Crypt Gallery 2016.

I curated “Scenograph”, a group show at Obiter Studio, London, 2020 and “The comrades they were brave – We salute you!” at 44 GRS Gallery 2022, which received ACE funding.

In 2023, I took part in Pada Residency nr 36, Barrerio, Portugal. During 2018-19 I was a participant in “Peer mentoring programme” at Cubitt, London and in 2017 “LCN Artist development programme” at Space, London. I am about to start “MASS Sculpture” programme this September, run by Turps Art School.
